The film

Denis Delestrac (1968, France) is one Europe’s most acclaimed non-fiction directors, having won over forty international awards including a Gold Panda, two Greenpeace Prizes and a Canadian Academy Award.  Among his numerous films and series screened on television and in cinemas worldwide, are acclaimed documentaries; Pax Americana (2009), Sand Wars (2013) and Freightened (2016). His latest projects include The Shadow of Gold (2019) and McCurry: The Pursuit of Color (2021), about legendary photojournalist Steve McCurry. In 2017, Denis opened his own production company, Intrepido Films, based in Barcelona. That same year he was also invited to become a member of the European Film Academy, to work – among others – alongside Wim Wenders, Claude Lelouch, Ridley Scott, and Almodovar to promote European cinema across the world.
